The annual Oxfordshire Reads moves to the Spring, great books and prizes!

Oxfordshire Libraries bud into life this spring with a bounty of bloomin’ good books on offer. From Bampton to Berinsfield, Henley to Hook Norton, all 44 libraries will be running Oxfordshire Reads, a celebration of books and reading.

Readers are invited to return a postcard telling library staff about a favourite book – and then will be entered to the prize draw. Libraries will be displaying Oxfordshire’s best-loved books; from classics to crime, science-fiction to espionage, chick-lit to chillers, feel-good fiction to fascinating factual books.

Prizes will include days out and vouchers from some of Oxfordshire’s top attractions, shops and businesses.

Marian Morgan-Bindon, our County Librarian, has already starting her wish list for this spring.

“I’m looking forward to discovering lots of new books this spring. I’ll be one of the many who will get inspired by your recommendations, who will be laughing out loud, who will grapple with that mystery and read books I would never have sought out.”

Cllr Lorraine Lindsay-Gale, Cabinet member for Cultural Services, added:

“There’s a wonderful selection of books across our network of libraries and Oxfordshire Reads will encourage people to try something a little bit different. I’m very interested in discovering what people think about the books this spring.”

When: Monday 2 March until Saturday 11 April 2020
