Share your views on A40 Eynsham Park and Ride to Wolvercote scheme

Residents are being invited to share feedback on Oxfordshire County Council’s plans for the A40 Eynsham Park and Ride to Wolvercote major infrastructure improvement scheme after securing £126 million of government funding in October.

The proposed scheme includes constructing a new junction onto the A40 to bring the Eynsham Park and Ride into use, bus lanes between the park and ride and Wolvercote, upgraded walking and cycling paths, and new signal-controlled crossings to enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.

People can have their say on the plans from 25 November 2024 until 1 January 2025. The plans, maps and an online survey will be available from 25 November on the council’s digital consultation and engagement platform Let’s Talk Oxfordshire .

Councillor Judy Roberts, Oxfordshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Infrastructure and Development Strategy, said, "This is an important project that will improve travel along the A40 in West Oxfordshire and help us realise the vision for a greener, more connected Oxfordshire. This public engagement is an opportunity to review the detailed plans, and we look forward to listening to residents’ feedback on the proposals."

There will also be two walk-in exhibitions showing the plans and designs:

·       25 Nov 2024 (3pm - 7pm): Cassington Village Hall, Cassington, OX29 4AX

·       4 Dec 2024 (3pm - 7pm): Eynsham Village Hall (Main Hall), Eynsham OX29 4QW

Subject to planning, the scheme will be delivered in phases and funding for the first phase has been secured from the Department for Transport's Local Growth Fund and Homes England's Housing Infrastructure Fund.

Feedback gathered during the engagement period will be considered as part of the planning process.
