Road in Curbridge to be resurfaced

Oxfordshire County Council is to carry out much needed resurfacing work on the A4095 at Curbridge.

Contractors will start on 4 August and work between the junction with Well Lane and the junction with the un-named road to Yelford.

The work will include structural repairs to the carriageway, resurfacing parts of the existing carriageway, drainage improvements and the replacement of road markings. Overall the scheme will cost £220,000.

Traffic management

The repairs will be split into phases.

Phase 1: Friday 4 August to Wednesday 16 August – a full road closure to enable the structural repairs, carriageway resurfacing, ditch clearance and replacement of road markings to be carried out.

A signed diversion route will be put in place during the road closure.

Phase 2: Thursday 6 September to Wednesday 13 September – two-way temporary traffic signals will be in place to allow verge work to be done which will include top soiling and drainage improvements.

This is one of a number of maintenance projects funded thanks to a successful bid by the county council to the Department for Transport for the Local Highways Maintenance Challenge Fund, which resulted in a government grant of almost £13m.
