It's not just what you see on the road surface that's important as you can see from the photos.
Along many of the roads you use you will see the openings to drains that help keep water off the tarmac, making for a safer journey.
But every so often they get blocked or need repairing, as was the case recently on Oxford Road in Kidlington.
