Primary schools unite for Christmas ‘Big Sing’

The ‘Big Christmas Sing’ will involve 21 primary schools over two nights - Tuesday 1st December and Wednesday 2nd December – at Oxford Town Hall.

Organised by the Oxfordshire County Music Service and Christian Aid, the concerts will feature a host of festive songs performed by the young singers and a rousing massed choir finale. There will also be carols for family and friends in the audience to sing along.

Liz Stock of the Music Service said:  “This promises to be a fantastic event to get families in the Christmas spirit, as well as raise some money for a very worthy cause. The show just gets better each year and Oxford Town Hall is a lovely venue for it.”

Partnership

It is the eighth year the Music Service has worked in partnership with Christian Aid to stage the Big Sing, with more than £14,000 having been raised for the charity since the first event was held in 2008.

Anwen Holmes, Christian Aid Regional Coordinator in Oxford, said: “The Big Christmas Sing is a great occasion for all the family, and we’re very excited to be running it over two nights again this year. With all the hard work the children have put in, we are sure it will be a fantastic festive concert.”
