Playhatch Road work progressing well

Following floods earlier this year, Playhatch Road was severely damaged, both on the surface and the under carriage. Work began in the middle of September to restore the road to its previous condition. This work made up the first phase, which has now been completed.

Work has now moved further down the B478, closer to the roundabout with Henley Road. This is to carry out edge strengthening work along both edges of the carriageway. This work is expected to take around 2 weeks and should be completed by mid-November.

Councillor David Nimmo Smith, Cabinet Member for Transport said: “I am pleased that the work is progressing and we are close to having Playhatch Road fully re-opened.

“This final phase of work will mean the moving of traffic signals closer to the roundabout and the possibility of disruption is increased. We are doing all we can to mitigate against this and we urge commuters to plan ahead when travelling in the area.”
