Pedestrians and cyclists to benefit from Woodstock Road speed limit change

The 20mph speed limit on Oxford’s A4144 Woodstock Road is to be extended adjacent to the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter.

Oxford University is paying for scheme design and construction and the number of pay and display parking spaces in the area will be reduced as part of the work.

Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Economy, Councillor Yvonne Constance, approved the changes at a meeting on October 12.

A report from officers to the meeting said that the changes to the stretch of Woodstock Road in question would “improve the perception of a safer road” and “facilitate improvements to walking and cycling routes”.
