Oxfordshire County Council marks Adults Safeguarding Week 2025 with community engagement
Oxfordshire County Council is proud to support National Safeguarding Adults Week, beginning Monday 17 November, with a programme of community engagement activities aimed at raising awareness and promoting safeguarding services across the county.
The week encourages the development of safer cultures, proactive safeguarding before harm occurs, and open conversations that embed prevention into everyday practice.
In collaboration with its safeguarding team and Oxfordshire Safeguarding Adults Board (OSAB), the county council will host information stands at the following locations:
- Monday: Westgate Library (13:00-15:00)
- Wednesday: County Hall (11:30-14:30)
- Friday: Westgate Library (13:00-15:00)
These stands will be open for two hours each day, offering residents the chance to learn more about safeguarding services, explore current trends and themes, and understand how to seek support if needed.
Staffed by representatives from various agencies, the stands will provide leaflets, answer questions and share insights into safeguarding demand, types of abuse and ways to ensure safety for people.
Councillor Tim Bearder, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care at Oxfordshire County Council, said: “Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Adults Safeguarding Week is a vital opportunity to raise awareness, share knowledge, and strengthen our community’s ability to protect vulnerable residents.
“I’m proud to see Oxfordshire County Council leading the way with meaningful engagement and collaboration across agencies.”

Residents are invited to stop by, ask questions, and discover how everyone can work together to protect vulnerable adults in Oxfordshire.
