New Vice Lord-Lieutenant for Oxfordshire

The Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Mrs Marjorie Glasgow BEM, has appointed Mr James Macnamara DL to assist in the role of representing His Majesty the King in the county.

Mr Macnamara, who has recently completed a year’s service as High Sheriff of Oxfordshire, takes over from Ms Lynda Atkins DL. 

Mrs Glasgow said: “I am delighted that The King has approved the appointment of James as the new Vice Lord-Lieutenant of the County.  In this important role he will be able to utilise his business experience, combined especially with his understanding of Oxfordshire’s voluntary sector, in supporting the Lieutenancy’s role of representing the Crown across the County.”

Mr Macnamara said: “It is a great honour to have been appointed Vice Lord-Lieutenant. During my shrieval year I have been privileged to meet a wide range of organisations across Oxfordshire. I am looking forward to engaging even more with the Oxfordshire community in the coming years.”
