New Nursery class at Hardwick Primary School in Banbury

Hardwick Primary School in Banbury will have a nursery class for the first time after Oxfordshire County Council approved the move.

A proposal was made to lower the school age range down to 2 year olds, offering 16 part-time equivalent places for three and four year olds and eight part-time equivalent places for two year olds.

No new premises are required as the nursery will continue to use space at the school formerly occupied by a children’s centre. The school has taken over the running of that provision to make sure that quality childcare continues for local families.

The decision was formally taken by Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor Hilary Hibbert-Biles on 22 November.
