New library opens at the West Way in Botley

Oxfordshire’s libraries are updating services to residents with the launch of a new library at Botley, Oxford. Funded by the Botley Development Company, the purpose-built library is part of the West Way Development.

The site in Botley replaces a previous, smaller library in the area and demonstrates the County’s commitment to its library provision.

The new library brings Botley the best of contemporary library design. Curved, open shapes create a discovery layout which showcases the library collections and makes browsing a pleasure. A walk through the central shelving zones leads you into a children’s library in front of picture windows.

In addition to a great range of library materials, the new vibrant space offers a much larger space than the previous site. It provides great capacity for library activities and events. Almost everything in the library is mobile to enable a wide range of events and activities - talks, performances, workshops and displays – to take place, making it a valuable community resource when circumstances mean we are able to reintroduce these services. There are also spaces with power to plug in your own device as well as a dedicated zone for teenagers.

The library is located at: 5A Church Way, Botley, Oxford OX2 9TH.

Botley Library is currently open from 9.30am-1pm on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 1pm-5pm on Thursdays.
