Lower speed limits in Swinbrook and Widford
Motorists in two west Oxfordshire villages near Burford will see speed limits lowered to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders.
The existing 30mph speed limit is to be reduced to 20mph in Swinbrook, and a 30mph speed limit introduced at Widford in place of the national speed limit at the request of Swinbrook and Widford Parish Council – who have also provided funding for the work. Formal consultation took place between January 24 and February 16.
Oxfordshire County Council’s Leader Councillor Ian Hudspeth approved the plans at a meeting on April 12.
