Libraries launch Short Story Competition 2017

Oxfordshire County Council’s Library Service has begun its search for the county’s best short story-writer for 2017.

Aspiring authors across Oxfordshire are being urged to enter the popular annual competition, with separate categories for ‘adults’ and ‘young adults’.

The lucky winners, who will be announced in March, will get to see their entries published as an eBook and available via the library website, to be borrowed and read across the county.

"Inspiring first step"

The council’s Cabinet Member for Cultural Services Lorraine Lindsay-Gale said: “Previous winners have been some of the most borrowed eBooks in our collection so this is a great chance to get your unique writing voice heard, and could be an inspiring first step for new writers of all ages.”

The deadline for entries is 4 January 2017. Full terms and conditions as well as instructions on how to submit your entries can be found here
