Letter from King Charles III

We  have received a card from His Majesty King Charles III in response to a letter of condolence from Oxfordshire County Council Chair, Councillor Susannah Pressel.

It was so very kind of you to send me such a wonderfully generous message following the death of my beloved mother. Your mother thoughtful words are enormously comforting, and I cannot tell you how deeply they are appreciated at this time of immense sorrow.

King Charles III

To the Private Secretary to His Majesty King Charles

Dear Sir,

I am writing on behalf of the councillors and officers of Oxfordshire County Council and the people of Oxfordshire to convey our most sincere condolences to His Majesty King Charles on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen was a truly remarkable individual, whose dedication throughout her reign was exemplary and who embodied the values we hold so dear of public service, commitment and constancy. We will remember her with tremendous affection and gratitude, and we share the sense of profound loss and grief that is felt around the country, the Commonwealth and the world.

Please extend our most heartfelt sympathies to His Majesty the King and his family at this extremely sad time.

Yours faithfully,

Cllr Susanna Pressel

Chair, Oxfordshire County Council
