Improvements for cyclists and pedestrians in Sonning Common

A new shared use cycle and pedestrian route is to be created in Sonning Common following a decision made by Oxfordshire County Council.

The existing footway on the west side of the B481 between its junctions with Westleigh Drive and Birdwood Court will be turned into a route suitable for walkers and cyclists as part of an adjacent residential development.

Support for the proposal was received from the parish council and it is hoped that the route will provide a safe and convenient link for pedestrians and cyclists to village amenities.

Developers will and build the scheme later this year.
