Frideswide Square work put back by one night

Due to tonight’s forecast for rain, the final night of work on Frideswide Square has been put back by one night.

Contractors now plan to work between 8pm on Thursday night and 6am on Friday morning as dry conditions are needed when laying the final road layer.

The road through Frideswide Square will be closed to traffic between these times. A two-way diversion route will be in place via Becket Street, Osney Lane, Hollybush Row.

Two-way temporary signals will be installed to aid the manoeuvre from Becket Street to Osney Lane. There will also be a temporary suspension of the loading bay and disabled parking bay on Becket Street until the work is complete.

Eastbound and Westbound bus stops, currently in Frideswide Square, will also be temporarily relocated to Park End Street for the duration of the work.

The team will maintain access to businesses and properties for deliveries at all times. Pedestrian routes through the square and to all frontages will also be maintained at all times.
