Cyclists encouraged to dismount at Queen Street
The work means that the carriageway is more narrow than normal outside Westgate and cyclists who cycle through normally run the risk of an accident with oncoming traffic.
Katherine Powley of Oxfordshire County Council’s Highways Network Management Team said:
“Laing O'Rourke have placed 'Cyclist Dismount' signs at our request. We would encourage cyclists to heed these for their safety and that of other road users whilst the area is restricted by the building work.”
