Cycling boost for Crowmarsh

There’s more reason for people to get out on two wheels in Crowmarsh with the rejuvenation of cycle lanes on Benson Lane.

Oxfordshire County Council have put down cycle lanes in both directions but left the centre line out, which gives greater prominence to cyclists and demands motorists take extra care.

County Councillor Liam Walker, Cabinet member for highway operation and delivery, said: “The cycle lanes look really strong and I hope cyclists will feel confident in using them.

“Active travel is all about helping people on two wheels or on foot to get around more easily and raising their profile to motorists as much as possible.

“The width of the cycle lane markings will hopefully emphasise to drivers the need to pass with care and anticipate the needs of other road users.”
