Bicester town centre traffic works complete

The project has been delivered on time and within budget.

Key junctions have been altered to improve journey time reliability and traffic flow whilst improving access for all forms of transport – including buses, cyclists and pedestrians.

Households across Bicester received leaflets in March detailing all the changes to tackle congestion while creating a better environment for walking and cycling.

County Councillor David Nimmo Smith, Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet member for Environment, said: “We are pleased that the works have gone according to plan and the county council will continually monitor the scheme to assess its effectiveness.

“The council put a great deal of effort into making sure local people were kept informed about what was happening, and I think that has helped the job run smoothly.”
