Beware Oxford parking ticket machine scam

People parking on street or at Oxford’s on street parking and park and ride sites have been warned to be vigilant for a new scam.

Over the weekend there have been reports of people using the pay and display machines in Oxford being approached by individuals pretending to be an engineer, offering to help obtain parking tickets.

During the course of this, bank cards were stolen using the excuse that the pay and display machine retained their card.

The machines on Oxford’s park and ride sites and on street will not retain a bank card. Anyone approached by someone offering assistance should not hand over their bank card and immediately report the matter to Thames Valley Police.

If your do need help obtaining a parking ticket, we are more than happy to help and can be contacted on 0345 337 1138 option 3.
