Armed Forces Day 2020 in Oxfordshire

Today (June 27) is Armed Forces Day and earlier this week a small number of Oxfordshire’s armed forces personnel gathered in a socially distanced way for a flag-raising ceremony in Oxford.

They were greeted by the Chairman of Oxfordshire County Council, Councillor Les Sibley, the Lord Liuetenant Tim Stevenson OBE and the High Sherriff Lady Amanda Ponsonby MBE.

This important annual event celebrates the important role the armed forces play in day to day life here in Oxfordshire and remembers the sacrifices made by previous generations. We captured the event on video  - watch it above!
