Afternoon tea raises more than £1,000 for charity

More than £1,000 was raised for charity as a result of an afternoon tea event held by the Chair of Oxfordshire County Council, Cllr Alison Rooke.

The event was held at the Earth Trust in Little Wittenham with a total of £1,100 being raised for Cllr Rooke’s chosen charities - My Vision Oxfordshire, Parkinson’s UK and the Earth Trust.

The event was fully booked and Cllr Rooke was delighted to see so many people including the Vice Lord Lieutenant, Lynda Atkins DL, mayors and council chairs, and representatives from each charity along with many members of the public.

On the day guests could choose to participate in a tour of the Earth Lab, a guided walk through the arboretum or a talk hosted by local comedy script writer Paul Mayhew Archer.

Afternoon tea was followed by a very successful raffle and Cllr Rooke has thanked all generous contributors.
