We dig good roads drainage

Our roads team have been getting a grip on rural road drainage in Shifford.

The small channels you see in the pictures are called ‘grips’ and are a low-tech but highly-effective way of allowing water to drain off the road and into ditches in rural areas.

The county council cuts grips around the rural road network in Oxfordshire. So next time you are out and about and see one you can amaze your friends with your expert knowledge by pointing them out.
