Speed limits to change in Great Bourton, North Oxfordshire

Speed limits in Great Bourton just north of Banbury are to change to ensure traffic safety as new homes are built in the area.

Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Economy, Councillor Yvonne Constance approved a series of changes on February 8.

• An existing 30mph limit on Main Street will be extended westwards

• A 50mph speed limit that applies on the A423 Southam Road will be extended eastwards in to replace a very short length of existing national speed limit. 

Further consideration of possible amendments to the traffic calming measures on Main Street will be undertaken in consultation with the local community.

Funding for the work has been provided by the developers of the land adjacent to Main Street.
