Speed limits to be reduced on A423 Oxford Southern Bypass

Speed limits to be cut on roads to the a423 oxford southern bypass

Speed limits on the A423 Oxford Southern Bypass are to be reduced following a decision by Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet member for Environment.

The speed limit on the Old Abingdon Road and Kennington Road is to be reduced to 40mph on the lengths which are currently national speed limit. There will no change to where the 30mph limit starts.

On the slip road linking the westbound carriageway of the A423 Oxford Southern bypass to Kennington, the 50mph speed limit which has been approved for the bypass will be extended to where the 30mph speed limit starts.

Funding for the speed limit changes is available from the residual budget for the major improvement scheme at the A423 Kennington roundabout.
