Redbridge household waste recycling centre to shut in November for repair

Essential structural repair work at the Redbridge household waste recycling centre in Old Abingdon Road, Oxford will take place 9 - 30 November. During this time, the site will close to the public.

It will remain open to trade customers, as the central area which they use is unaffected and can operate as normal.

Extra staff will operate at household waste recycling centres around Oxfordshire to help with any increase in demand. The aim is to have the Redbridge site open again for the busy Christmas period.

Councillor Yvonne Constance, Cabinet Member for Environment, said:

“I urge residents to plan ahead for this closure, either by storing their recycling and waste at home until Redbridge reopens or, ideally, by using one of neighbouring household waste recycling centres. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but these are essential repairs that we can’t ignore. We thank you for your understanding.”
