New waiting restrictions on Bicester streets to combat parking problems

Concerns over the obstruction of traffic and road safety as a result of on-street parking at a number of locations in Bicester has led to new proposed waiting restrictions being approved.

Local councillors and the Bicester Traffic Advisory Committee had raised concerns leading Oxfordshire County Council to introduce new restrictions and amend existing waiting restrictions.

Proposals for new restrictions in parts of Bucknell Road, Kings Avenue and Bernwood Road will see the changes introduced after approval by Councillor Yvonne Constance (Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment) on May 25.

Proposals in other parts of Bicester including along Mallards Way, Hunt Close, Rowan Road and Dryden Avenue can also proceed as there were no objections

Monitoring will be carried out to assess the impact of the changes and the need for any future modifications or additional measures.
