Ever thought about becoming a county councillor?

An event will be held at County Hall on Wednesday 14 September to provide information to anybody who has ever thought about democratically representing their area.

Oxfordshire County Council has 63 county councillors who are elected once every four years to the authority. The next election is on Thursday 4 May, 2017.

The event begins at 7pm and will run for two hours. There will be a presentation on how councillors are elected, the role of a county councillor and the support provided to councillors by the council once they have been elected.

A panel of current county councillors will be taking part in a discussion about their roles followed by a question and answer session.

There will also be networking opportunities for people to individually ask questions of county councillors and find out more about the work of the council.
