Have your say on Burford HGV restrictions

People are being given the chance to have their say on proposals for a new 7.5 tonne weight limit for the A361 Burford High Street

The county council is asking for views after working with Burford Town Council to design a scheme that would address their concerns about HGVs using the town as a through route

The plans would prohibit vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight travelling between Burford and Fulbrook roundabouts (A40 to A424). There would be ‘access only’ allowed for HGVs to make deliveries and necessary pick ups. The emergency services will also be exempt.

If approved there would be advanced alternative route signage for HGVs to use the A44 north-westwards from the A34, the A40 westwards from the A34, and the A429 from the A40 at Northleach (Gloc.) northwards to Stow on the Wold and vice versa.
