Gruffalo creator joins school pupils for special singalong

Award-winning children’s author Julia Donaldson will join hundreds of Oxfordshire school pupils in a musical extravaganza at the County’s Centre for Music later this month.

The creator of The Gruffalo will be performing her popular live show alongside 900 youngsters from 28 different schools, with the children singing along to songs from her famous stories.

The youngsters will take part in three performances on 25 April, in front of packed-out audiences of family and friends. The shows feature musical numbers from the Julia Donaldson song book A Treasury of Songs.

Memorable occasion

Central Area Manager for the County Music Service Jess Gray said: “It’s a real privilege to welcome Julia Donaldson to our Centre for Music. To have so many schools taking part and learning the songs is fantastic, and I’m sure it will be a memorable day for everyone involved.”

Oxfordshire’s Centre for Music is on Bayswater Road Headington, Oxford.
