Flood fire crew return

The team were deployed in York to help with pumping out water from a water pumping station which had suffered a loss of power but have since been released and are heading back to Oxfordshire.

Station manager Mark Ames who led the team said: “We were only too pleased to help out and very proud to represent Oxfordshire in the nationwide response to the emergency in the north.

“In the past, when we have suffered from flooding,  our county has benefited from help and support from other areas and it was very gratifying to be able to give something back and  to do our bit  to help in an area which has been utterly devastated by the flood waters.”
