Fire crews tackle burst water main at Madley Park

Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service is continuing to assist Thames Water with the clean-up operation following an earlier burst water main which closed the A4095 at Madley Park, Witney.

The leak has now been isolated, though the road remains closed in both directions, as four fire crews continue working to divert water away from the highway and nearby properties.

Duty Fire Officer Julian Green said: “We are continuing to work closely with Thames Water and the council's Emergency Planning team to provide reassurance to residents. The water is now receding and we have managed to restrict water damage to a small number of domestic garages and one residential property."
