Excitement mounts as long-awaited school receives official opening date

A date has been announced for the long-awaited opening of Gagle Brook Primary School in Bicester.

The White Horse Federation has announced the school will welcome its first pupils on 4th September 2018. Applications for a place in Reception class at the start of the academic year are still being accepted.

A parents and community evening will be held at Gagle Brook Primary School on March 22nd at 6pm, where further details will be provided.

Gagle Brook Primary School will offer pupils an enhanced curriculum that places emphasis on excellence and enjoyment. Meanwhile, well-resourced classrooms with interactive whiteboards and a networked ICT suite will ensure learning is supplemented with best-in-class facilities. The school’s spacious, modern building and attractive external environment are designed to have a minimal carbon footprint as part of an ecological and ethical ethos that will be reflected across the curriculum.

Serving a new community

Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Public Health, Hilary Hibbert-Biles, said: “This is really great news for everyone associated with Elmsbrook, North West Bicester. Through the combined efforts of The White Horse Federation and Oxfordshire County Council, Gagle Brook Primary School will be the first new school to open and serve this new community in Bicester, set in a purpose-built sustainable environment.”

The White Horse Federation also announced that Gagle Brook Primary School will offer nursery provision, delivering wrap-around care services for young children in the area. A parents and community evening will be held at Gagle Brook Primary School on March 22nd at 6pm, where members of the public will have the opportunity to meet with members of staff and learn more about these services.

Great ambitions

“We are delighted to confirm Gagle Brook Primary School will open 4th September 2018, and extend our sincere thanks to Oxfordshire County Council for their support as we work toward the opening,” said Nick Capstick OBE, CEO of The White Horse Federation.

“We have great ambitions for the school, so while current admissions are limited to Reception and Nursery-aged children we look forward to accepting admissions for additional year groups once class sizes ensure we are able to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum for the benefit of every pupil.”
