A420 Buckland - lanes closed following HGV crash and diesel spill

Following a collision between two lorries yesterday which caused damage to the road surface, the A420 has been reduced to one lane at Buckland for safety reasons.

Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service rescued one of the drivers who has to be airlifted to hospital yesterday evening. A serious diesel spill during the crash, means that resurfacing needs to be done – this work will take place from 10pm tonight and be complete in time for the morning peak.

In the meantime the damaged areas are unsafe to drive on and are cordoned off with temporary traffic lights being used to manage traffic.

Drivers are advised to listen to local radio traffic news to get updates on the A420 and affected local roads as delays are to be expected, particularly at peak times.
